The 500’s a winner for all the right reasons. The election of the Fiat 500 as 2008 Car of the Year was the right decision – it is a delight to drive, striking an excellent balance between comfort and balance making a trip to the shops feel like you’re humming along to Lake Garda for a blast in your Riva powerboat. Possibly the coolest car on the roads! In addition to ensuring maximum driving pleasure, the 500 is friendly to the environment. The credit goes to its engines, conforming to the emission limits envisaged by the future Euro 5 standards.

BMW 118d – Family Car
The BMW 118d records an impressive 70 mpg on the extra urban cycle with CO2 emissions of 119g/km. The diesel BMW employs technologies such as Brake Energy Regeneration, Auto Start-Stop and Electric Power Steering under the Efficient Dynamics banner to help cut fuel bills and emissions. An optimum gearshift change indicator encourages economical motoring. It could be said that while other manufacturers have claimed to be environmentally friendly, it is BMW who have actually made fundamental improvements in output and performance and has probably done nearly as much as all other manufacturers combined. All-in-all BMW’s effort in making a proper driver’s car green is worthy of our green family car choice & not, say, a Toyota Prius. HINT - Don't touch the petrol BMW 1 series as it's no where near as good as the diesel. BMW can't sell them to normal buyers so sell them in bulk to big car hire firms.
